Q: How does your nanny placement process work?
A: We begin with a thoughtful family intake call to understand your needs, values, schedule, and parenting style. Next, we recruit and pre-screen caregivers, presenting only those who match your criteria. You’ll interview top candidates, conduct a trial day if desired, and we support offer negotiations, contracts, and onboarding. Most placements are completed in 3–6 weeks.
Q: What kind of nannies do you place?
A: We place full-time and part-time nannies, newborn care specialists, bilingual caregivers, certified infant/toddler specialists, family assistants, travel nannies, and more. We focus on compassionate, professional caregivers aligned with your values.
Q: Do your nannies offer transportation, cooking, or help with household duties?
A: Yes, many of our nannies have clean driving records and are comfortable doing school pickups, meal prep, tidying, kids’ laundry, or helping with family logistics. Roles can be tailored to your household's needs.
Q: How do you vet your nannies?
A: Every candidate completes a 6-step screening: in-depth interview, identity verification, national background check, motor vehicle report, reference checks, and skills/safety assessment. We also verify CPR/First Aid, and specialty training when applicable.
Q: Can we meet the nanny before committing?
A: Absolutely. We schedule interviews and optional working trials (paid by you) to ensure a mutual fit before finalizing placement.
Q: Do you run background checks? What do they include?
A: Yes. Checks include criminal database searches, sex offender registry, social security trace, address history, and motor vehicle records.
Q: What does it cost to hire a nanny through your agency?
A: Our placement fee (separate from the nanny's wages) starts at $8,000 for full-time placements. Part-time and specialty roles vary. The nanny’s hourly rate is negotiated between you and the nanny, typically $28–$35/hr in Boulder.
Q: How do nanny taxes and payroll work?
A: Nannies are considered household employees (not independent contractors). We guide you through setting up legal payroll via a trusted provider and explain compliant wage, overtime, and benefits structures.
Q: What if the nanny doesn’t work out?
A: All placements come with a replacement guarantee (60–120 days depending on your package). If something isn’t working, we’ll mediate or restart the search at no extra cost within the guarantee period.
Q: Do you offer support after placement?
A: Yes. We provide 30/60/90-day check-ins, communication templates, family-nanny agreements, and ongoing access to caregiver training and resources.
Q: What kind of training do your nannies receive?
A: Our caregiver community includes continued education offerings, such as child development workshops, positive parenting methods, neurodiversity awareness, and seasonal outdoor safety — highly relevant to Boulder lifestyles.
Q: Can your nannies keep up with our active Colorado lifestyle?
A: Absolutely. Many of our caregivers hike, ski, bike, and prioritize outdoor enrichment. We factor in your family’s activity level when matching you with a nanny.
Q: Does Building Trust Boulder help with nanny-shares?
A: Yes, we can match two like-minded families for a share arrangement and help structure compensation, schedules, and contracts to ensure fairness and harmony.
Q: Do you offer temporary care for ski trips or school breaks?
A: We do! Temporary and travel nanny options are available with proper notice.
